Do I need to pay tourist tax?

Find out if this is included or payable locally

Written by NUCO Travel

France's tourist tax (taxe de séjour) is a mandatory local fee applied per person, per night for visitors staying in paid accommodation. The exact rate is set by the local municipality and varies widely based on the location and the official star classification of the property

Across most of France, rates generally range from €0.20 to €4.20 per person, per night.

Tourist tax is already included in your base price so this will not need to be paid by you when you arrive.

If you are heading to a different country such as Andorra, Switzerland or Italy, you will also be subject to tourist tax during your stay. All of our bookings include this in the base price and we pay this in advance on your behalf
