On Arrival
Make sure you complete and return any inventories as instructed (within 24hrs)
and be as thorough as possible.
Report any pre-existing problems to reception and get a written
acknowledgement.
Reporting problems to your rep is not an effective way of mitigating charges at
the end of the week - report directly to the reception or accommodation agency.
Take pictures (including date and time stamp) of any pre-existing damage.
During your stay
Respect your accommodation and follow the rules set out by the residence.
Take your rubbish to the external bins throughout the week, so it doesn’t build
up to the last day.
Don’t move furniture or kitchen items to other apartments. It’s hard to track
them down at the end of the week and you will be charged for any missing
items.
Do NOT leave rubbish in the corridors, and if you see any during the week, take
it to the relevant bin to avoid any communal charges.
Look after your keys as replacements are expensive. If you lose all the keys to
your room, you will be charged for changing the locks, which costs a fortune.
On Departure
Unless specified, end-of-stay cleaning is not included and prior to your
departure, you must clean your apartment.
Even if your room was not immaculate on arrival, please clean it ready for the
next people. “It was like this when we arrived” will not alleviate any cleaning
charges.
Report any damages to reception and pay for it whilst you’re there. Remember
to get a receipt.
Empty your dishwasher and fridge before you leave! Even if the dishes are
clean, residences will charge you to empty the dishwasher for you.
Take all your rubbish and recycling to the bins outside.
Fold your blankets and put them back neatly in the cupboard they came from.
Your accommodation e-ticket will give instructions for what to do with your bed linen. Most receptions count what each apartment gives back and then levies heavy fines for missing items.
