Reconnecting WeeConnectPay and Clover

How to reconnect your store to Clover after an 'Action Required' disconnection email or a red disconnected notice: what the two disconnect types mean and the reconnect steps for WooCommerce, PrestaShop, and Zoho. No data or settings are lost.

If you received an email with a subject like "Action Required: Your Clover connection is disconnected" or "Action Required: Your WeeConnectPay integration is disconnected", or you found a red notice in your store admin saying payments are not being processed, your store's connection to Clover needs to be re-established. Until it is, payments cannot be processed, and WeeConnectPay hides itself from your checkout so customers don't attempt payments that can't succeed.

The good news: reconnecting takes a few minutes, and nothing is lost. Your transaction history, orders, and payment settings all stay exactly as they are; only the authentication between your store and Clover is refreshed.

The two types of disconnection

Email subject

What it means

"Action Required: Your Clover connection is disconnected"

Clover no longer accepts the credentials your store uses to talk to Clover's payment system.

"Action Required: Your WeeConnectPay integration is disconnected"

The credentials your store uses to talk to WeeConnectPay expired or were revoked.

The distinction matters to our support team, but your action is the same in both cases: sign in with Clover again from your store's WeeConnectPay settings, and fresh credentials are issued automatically.

Reconnect on WooCommerce (WordPress)

Step 1. Open the plugin settings. Log in to your WordPress admin and go to WooCommerce → Settings → Payments → WeeConnectPay. The red notice's Go to WeeConnectPay settings link takes you to the same place.

Step 2. Connect to Clover. Click Connect to Clover. A code is displayed, and the WeeConnectPay login page opens for you to enter it. The code is valid for 15 minutes; if it expires, click Connect to Clover again for a fresh one.

Step 3. Sign in and authorize. Log in with the Clover account that owns your merchant business and authorize the connection. Using a different Clover account is the most common snag here.

Step 4. Done. The plugin receives new credentials automatically and payment processing resumes immediately. The payment option reappears at your checkout on its own.

If you don't see a Connect to Clover button, your plugin is older than version 4.0; update the plugin first.

Reconnect on PrestaShop

Step 1. Log in to your PrestaShop back office and go to Modules → Module Manager, then open the WeeConnectPay module settings.

Step 2. Click Connect to Clover, enter the displayed code on the WeeConnectPay login page, sign in with the Clover account that owns your merchant business, and authorize.

Step 3. Payment processing resumes automatically once approved.

Reconnect on Zoho

Open your WeeConnectPay integration settings in your Zoho application and start the reconnection, then follow the same sign-in-with-Clover authorization flow.

Why did this happen?

The most common causes, none of which mean anything is wrong with your store:

  • The Clover app was uninstalled and reinstalled, which revokes existing credentials.

  • A different person connected the integration, which revokes the previous connection.

  • The plugin or module was deactivated and reactivated, or the site was migrated or restored from a backup.

  • The Clover account changed hands (for example a change of account owner).

Frequently asked questions

Will I lose my transaction history? No. Reconnecting only re-establishes credentials. All historical transactions, customers, and orders remain intact on both sides.

Do I need to reconfigure my payment settings? No. Accepted card types, transaction mode, and the rest of your configuration are preserved.

I received disconnection emails on several days. We send at most one disconnection email per day per store, so consecutive emails mean the issue persisted. Reconnect as described above.

I reconnected but I'm still getting disconnected. That's not normal; email support@weeconnectpay.com and mention that the disconnection recurs after reconnecting. Forwarding the original disconnection email helps us find your integration fastest.

The email mentions "Staging" or "Sandbox". Your store is connected to a test environment rather than the live system. If you're not intentionally testing, email support@weeconnectpay.com for guidance.
