Wello supports Visa/Mastercard deposits in many countries, but availability depends on your country, issuing bank, and card-network rules. The app will only show card options where they are currently supported for your account.
How to check
Open Wello → Deposit → Deposit cash.
If a Credit/Debit card appears, your country/bank is supported.
If it shows unavailable, greyed out or doesn’t appear, cards aren’t available for your country/bank at this time (see alternatives below).
Markets where Visa may be unavailable
Based on recent network policy changes for card-to-crypto merchants, Visa card purchases may be blocked by issuers in the following markets. If you’re here, you may not see the card option in Wello:
China, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Macau, Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, Dominican Republic, United States, Canada
Note: These controls are set by the card networks and issuing banks, not by Wello. Availability can change over time as networks update their policies.
Mastercard
Mastercard support also varies by issuer and country. Some banks block crypto purchases by default. If your Mastercard fails or the card option is missing, use an alternative method below.
If your card is shown but still fails
Ensure 3-D Secure (OTP/push) is enabled.
Turn VPN off, then force-quit and reopen Wello.
Confirm identity verification is complete.
Check your bank allows international/online & crypto transactions.
Try another Visa/Mastercard from a different issuer.
If it still fails, send Support (in-app or email support@wellowallet.com):
Timestamp of the last attempt (with timezone)
Last 4 digits of the card (not the full number)
A screenshot of the last screen/error (hide sensitive info)
Alternatives when cards aren’t available
Bank transfer / SEPA (where shown)
Easy bank transfer (one-tap bank connectivity, where available)
On-chain USDC deposit from another wallet/exchange
Security reminders
Never share your full card number or one-time codes with anyone.
Only follow deposit instructions inside the Wello app.
