We have just released the final part of our Perform module - a brand new OKR feature which allows administrators to record Company Goals, and manager/employee users to create their own OKRs related to these.

In this article, we will share details of the new OKR release including:

What is an OKR?

OKRs are a goal-setting framework used by organisations to define measurable goals and track their outcomes. Their purpose is to engage everyone at the company with measurable goals.

The term OKR means Objective & Key Results:

  • Objective - what are you trying to achieve?

  • Key Results - how will you measure progress towards your objective?

How does the WeThrive OKR feature work?

OKRs tend to be hierarchical, allowing all individuals to contribute to the success of the organisation and the overall company goals.

Within WeThrive, the OKRs follow this structure:

  • Administrators can load in a set of Company Goals that are then visible to all users.

  • Managers can add their own Manager OKR for their department to this Company Goal - showcasing how they/their team will be helping to meet the Company Goal.

  • Employees assigned to the manager can add their own individual Employee OKRs to their Manager's OKR.

What visibility do different WeThrive users have over OKRs?

The transparency of OKRs across a business differ depending on the organisation and their working style.

Within WeThrive, we have kept visibility of OKRs consistent with other features used within the platform meaning the below user types have the following permissions:

Administrators

  • Can create & update the Company Goals.

  • Can view all Manager & Employee OKRs created across the organisation.

  • Can assign OKRs to both manager and employee users.

Managers

  • Can view Company Goals.

  • Can add their own Manager OKRs.

  • Can assign individual Employee OKRs to their assigned team members.

  • Can view Employee OKRs created by their assigned team members.

  • Cannot view OKRs of managers or employees who have not been assigned to them.

Employees

  • Can view the Company Goals.

  • Can view their assigned manager(s') Manager OKRs.

  • Can add individual Employee OKRs to their Manager's OKR.
