Logging in to Whale

Different ways to login to your Whale account.

Updated over a month ago

Getting into Whale is quick and secure, whether you use your email or Single Sign-On (SSO). All logins require an invitation from a workspace admin using your email address. Once you’re in, you’ll stay logged in for 30 days unless your token expires.

📧 Log in with Email

Step 1: Go to the login page

Step 2: Enter your invited email address

Use the same email your admin used to invite you.

Step 3: Enter the login code

  • A one-time code will be emailed to you.

  • The code expires after 15 minutes.

Step 4: Access Whale

You’ll remain logged in until your 30-day token expires.

Example: If you were invited with jane@company.com, make sure to use that exact address when logging in.

🔐 Log in with SSO (Single Sign-On)

Step 1: Go to the login page

Step 2: Choose your SSO provider

Click the icon for your organization’s login type:

  • Sign in with Google

  • Sign in with Microsoft

Step 3: Select your invited email

A modal will display your available accounts. Choose the one your admin invited.

💡 Admin tip: You can enforce SSO-only login for all members. See our guide on enforcing SSO.

🛠 Troubleshooting Login Issues

Not receiving the code email?

  • Your firewall or mail server may be blocking it.

  • Ask your IT team to whitelist: usewhale.io.

Code expired or not working?

  • Some virus scanners automatically click links to check safety, causing them to expire.

  • Whitelist usewhale.io in your mailbox or mail server to prevent this.

Example: If your security software clicks verification links, the one-time code will no longer be valid when you try to use it.

By following these steps, you’ll be logged in and ready to enjoy the best SOP and process documentation platform without interruptions.
