Whippet Notes can display images in your letter and letterhead editors, so a branded header you build once carries through to every letter you generate.
Where images are (and aren't) supported
Images work in two places:
The letterhead designer on the letters settings page, where you build your Practice Letter Header (logo, contact details, branding). See Setting up your letterhead for the full walkthrough.
The letter editor on a consult, used when reviewing a generated client letter. See Viewing and navigating a consult.
The clinical notes editor is for text only, so you can't place an image into a note. And only the letterhead designer lets you resize an image — in the consult letter editor, an image shows at its existing size.
Working with your letterhead
Go to your letters settings page.
Switch on Enable custom letter header if it isn't already.
Build your header in the Practice Letter Header editor.
Check the Preview panel below the editor — it shows your header at roughly A4 page width with sample body text, so you can confirm the image sits where you expect.
Click Save letter header.
Your saved header then appears on the client letters Whippet generates.
The editors are designed mainly for text and layout. If you're not sure how to bring a specific logo or image in, or it doesn't appear the way you expect, contact support — we can help you get your branding set up.
How to resize an image in the letterhead
Click the image in the Practice Letter Header editor to select it.
Drag one of the handles on the top, bottom, left or right edge. The image keeps its original proportions as you drag — width and height stay in step, so it won't stretch or squash.
Click Save letter header when you're happy.
An image can't be dragged smaller than 50 pixels wide or 50 pixels tall. Because resizing only exists here, it helps to have your image roughly the right dimensions before you bring it in.
If something goes wrong
Save letter header is greyed out. The button stays disabled until you've actually changed something, and while a save is in progress. Make an edit, then save.
"Failed to save. Please try again." Your changes didn't save. Check your connection and click Save letter header again.
You can't drag an image to resize it. You're almost certainly in the consult letter editor, not the letterhead designer. Resizing is only available when building your Practice Letter Header on the letters settings page.
The image won't get any smaller. You've hit the 50 pixel minimum width or height — that's as small as the editor allows.
What this doesn't do (yet)
Add images to clinical notes. Images are supported in letters and letterheads only.
Resize images inside a consult letter. Only the letterhead designer offers resize handles.
Offer an "insert image" button. There's no dedicated image button in the editor toolbar.
Work on mobile. Letter and letterhead editing is on the web dashboard.
