In Whippy, tags are a powerful tool for categorizing and organizing your contacts. By adding tags to contacts, you can streamline your communication, easily filter and search for specific groups, and target your messages and campaigns more effectively. This guide will walk you through the process of creating tags and assigning them to contacts.

How to Create Tags

1. Navigate to Tags in Settings

Go to the Whippy Settings: Tags by clicking https://app.whippy.co/settings/tags

2. Start the Creation of a New Tag

Click on the "Add Tag" button to start creating a new tag. This option will open a form where you can define the tag's details.

3. Give Your Tag a Name

Enter a name for your tag and choose a color to easily identify it.

4. Save Your New Tag

Once you have entered the necessary information and customized the tag's appearance, click on the "Save Tag" button. This action will save the new tag to your list.

How to Add Tags to Contacts

1. Navigate to the Contacts Page

To assign tags to contacts, head to the "Contacts" page. This page displays all the contacts stored in Whippy.

2. Locate the Desired Contact

Use the search bar at the top of the "Contacts" page to quickly find a specific contact, or scroll through the list to locate them manually.

3. Select the Contact

Click on the contact's name to open their detailed profile in the contact side panel. This panel contains all the information and options related to that contact.

4. Add a Tag to the Contact

In the contact side panel, look for the "Add Tag" button. Clicking this button will allow you to add tags to the selected contact.

5. Select the Appropriate Tag(s)

A list of available tags will appear. Simply check the box next to the tag(s) you want to assign to the contact. You can select multiple tags if needed.
