Notification settings help you stay informed without being overwhelmed. Each user can customize their own alerts to match their workflow, ensuring important updates are never missed while reducing unnecessary noise.

Notification settings: User-level preferences that control how alerts are delivered.

Notification channels: The methods Whippy uses to notify you, including email, SMS, mobile push, web, and voice.

Categories: Groups of notifications such as Inbox, Contacts, Usage, Imports, Links, Forms, and Integrations.

Step-by-Step: Access Notification Settings

  1. Click the gear icon in the top-right corner of your screen to open Settings.

  2. In the left-hand menu, select Notifications.

  3. Review the list of available notification types.

  4. Toggle all notifications on or off, or expand categories to enable or disable specific alerts.

Notification Types and Categories

Email Notifications

Inbox

  • You are assigned to a conversation.

  • A conversation you are assigned to receives a message.

  • Any new message, regardless of assignee.

  • Any new message in a conversation with no assignee.

  • An open conversation you are assigned to is waiting 30 minutes.

  • An open conversation you are assigned to is waiting hours.

  • A keyword you are following has been triggered.

  • You are mentioned in a conversation.

  • A call has started in a location you have access to.

  • A call has ended in a location you have access to.

  • A call was missed in a channel you have access to.

Contacts

  • An inbound lead from an external source.

Imports

  • An import you uploaded has been processed.

Usage

  • Organization billing usage exceeds 75%, 100%, or 150%.

Links

  • A contact clicked on a link from one of your messages.

  • A contact clicked on a link from any message.

Forms

  • A form response is submitted.

Integrations

  • Issue detected with your Meta page connection.

SMS Notifications

Includes the same categories and event types as email notifications, except limited to SMS delivery capability.

Mobile Push Notifications

Includes the same categories and event types as email notifications.

Delivered via the Whippy mobile app.

Web Notifications

Includes the same categories and event types as email notifications.

Displayed through the bell icon in the top-right corner of Whippy.

Voice Notifications

Calls

  • Incoming VoIP call to a channel you have access to.

Tips and Best Practices

  • Start with essential channels such as email and web notifications.

  • Use mobile push notifications to stay updated when away from your desktop.

  • Review notification preferences occasionally to keep them aligned with your role.

  • Avoid turning on every category to reduce unnecessary alerts.
