Why it matters

Notification settings help you stay informed about important events without overwhelming your inbox or devices. By tailoring notifications to your workflow, you ensure you respond quickly to what matters while avoiding unnecessary interruptions.

Key Concepts

Notification Channels: Methods Whippy uses to notify you, including email, SMS, mobile push, web, and voice.

Event Types: Specific actions in Whippy (e.g., new messages, missed calls, form submissions) that trigger notifications.

Toggle Controls: High-level switches for enabling or disabling notifications entirely for a specific medium.

Checkbox Notifications: Fine-grained controls that let you choose which specific events you want to receive alerts for.

Step-by-Step: Configure Notification Settings

  1. Open Account Settings.

    • Click the Settings icon in the left navigation bar, or

    • Click the gear icon in the top right and select Settings, then go to Notifications.

  2. Choose the notification channel to configure.

Notification settings are grouped into the following categories:

    • Email

    • SMS

    • Mobile Push

    • Web

    • Voice

  3. Enable or disable the entire channel.

    • Use the toggle at the top of each section to turn all notifications for that channel on or off.

    • When toggled off, all related checkbox options are disabled.

  4. Select specific events you want to be notified about.

Each notification channel includes similar event categories:

    • Inbox (messages, assignments, mentions, call activity)

    • Contacts (inbound leads)

    • Imports (import completion alerts)

    • Usage (billing usage thresholds: 75%, 100%, 150%)

    • Links (contact clicked a link from your messages or from any message)

    • Forms (form responses submitted)

    • Integrations (issues with Meta page connection)

Check or uncheck each box depending on your preferences.

  5. Configure Voice notifications (calls only).

    • Under Voice, you can enable notifications for incoming VoIP calls to any channel you have access to.

  6. Changes save automatically.

Updates are applied instantly when toggles or checkboxes are changed.

Tips and Best Practices

  • Enable push or web notifications if you need real-time alerts while actively working in Whippy.

  • Use email notifications for lower priority updates or events you want to review later.

  • Only enable SMS notifications for critical alerts to avoid unnecessary interruptions.

  • Turn on “link clicked” notifications only when actively tracking campaign performance.

  • Review notification settings periodically as your role or workload changes.
