Why it matters

Saving filters as segments allows you to reuse complex searches without rebuilding them. Segments update automatically as contact data changes, making them ideal for recurring targeting and automation.

Key Concepts

Filters: Conditions you define to narrow down contacts in the Data view.

Segments: Dynamic groups created from filters. Segments stay up to date automatically as data changes.

Save Segment: A shortcut that converts your current filter set into a named segment.

Step-by-Step: Save Filters as a Segment

  1. Go to Data β†’ Contacts.

  2. Configure one or more filters to define the audience you want.

  3. Click Save Segment at the top of the page.

  4. Enter a name for the new segment.

  5. Confirm to create the segment.

  6. Go to Segments in the left sidebar and select your newly created segment.

Tips and Best Practices

  • Name segments clearly so they are easy to identify later.

  • Combine AND/OR conditions to build flexible and accurate audiences.

  • Review filters before saving to ensure the segment remains meaningful as contacts update.

  • Convert frequently used advanced searches into segments for automation workflows.
