Why it matters

Campaign Analytics Filtering helps you understand specific behaviours within your completed campaigns. By applying filters to contact-level data, you can identify patterns, segment your audience, and make informed decisions about follow-up messaging, list hygiene, or future targeting strategies.

Key Concepts

Analytics filters: Tools that refine campaign results based on custom conditions.

Advanced filter: A filtering mode that allows detailed logic using resources, properties, operators, and values.

Resource: The dataset you are filtering, such as contacts, campaign contacts, or contact messages.

Logical operator (AND/OR): Determines how multiple conditions work together to narrow or broaden your results.

Step-by-Step: Apply Advanced Filters in Campaign Analytics

  1. Go to Campaigns.

Navigate to the Campaigns page to access all completed and ongoing campaigns.

  2. Select a completed campaign.

Find the completed campaign you want to analyse and click View details to open the full analytics page.

  3. Click Add filter.

In the analytics view, select Add filter to begin applying filtering rules.

  4. Select Advanced filter.

Choose Advanced filter for more detailed and customisable filtering options.

  5. Configure the advanced filter.

Begin setting up your filter based on the data you want to analyse.

  6. Select a resource.

Choose the dataset you want to filter, such as:

    • Contact

    • Campaign contact

    • Contact message

  7. Choose a property.

Select the relevant property for the chosen resource. Available properties vary depending on the resource.

  8. Set the comparison option.

Choose how the property should be evaluated, such as:

    • Is exactly

    • Contains

    • Does not contain

    • Is not exactly

  9. Define the value.

Enter the specific value you want to filter for.

  10. Add additional conditions (optional).

Add more conditions if you need a more refined result set.

  11. Choose a logical operator.

Decide whether conditions should be combined using:

  • AND for stricter filtering

  • OR for broader filtering

Tips and Best Practices

  • Combine filters with analytics tabs (for example Link clicked or Responded) for even more precise segmentation.

  • Use AND when you want contacts to match all conditions, and OR when you want contacts matching any condition.

  • Save your settings by applying the filter and review the resulting contact list before taking any bulk action.

  • Add multiple conditions to explore deeper behaviours, such as contacts who clicked a link and did not respond.

Troubleshooting

Issue

Possible Cause

Fix

No results appear

Filter conditions too narrow

Broaden conditions or remove one condition at a time.

Unexpected contacts included

Logical operator set to OR instead of AND

Review operators to ensure the correct logic is applied.

Property not available

Property depends on selected resource

Choose a different resource to access the needed property.
