Why it matters

Preferences settings allow you to customise how Whippy looks, feels, and behaves for your individual account. These settings help streamline your workflow, improve accessibility, and ensure your experience matches how you prefer to work.

Key Concepts

Text Size: Adjusts the interface typography without changing layout.

Language: Controls the display language of the entire Whippy interface.

Theme: Changes the colour scheme for your account only.

Inbox Behaviour: Settings that control how messages are composed and which channel is used by default.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Adds an extra layer of security when logging into your account.

Step-by-Step: Configure Your Preferences

  1. Open Account Settings.

    • Click the Settings icon in the left navigation bar, or

    • Click the gear icon in the top right and select Settings, then open the Preferences tab.

Customise General Preferences

1. Set text size

Choose your preferred text size for the Whippy interface:

  • Small

  • Medium (default)

  • Large

Text size changes only affect typography and do not modify layout.

2. Change your interface language

Select your preferred Language from the dropdown.

  • This updates Whippy’s interface language across all screens.

  • Does not affect the language of outbound messages.

3. Select a theme

Choose a Theme to customise the colour scheme of your workspace.

Theme changes are user-specific and do not affect other users.

Configure Inbox Preferences

4. Enable or disable "Enter to send"

Toggle Enter to send to determine how messages are sent.

  • Enabled: Pressing Enter sends a message. Use Shift + Enter for a new line.

  • Disabled: Press the send button to send messages. Enter creates line breaks.

5. Set your Preferred Channel

Choose the channel Whippy should use by default when creating new SMS messages in All Conversations.

  • Select from any SMS-capable channel assigned to you.

  • This speeds up messaging workflows and ensures consistency.

  • You can still manually change the channel when composing a message.

Set Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

6. Enable 2FA using an authenticator app

  • Expand Authenticator app.

  • Click Set up authenticator app.

  • Scan the displayed QR code with your authenticator app (e.g., Google Authenticator, Authy).

  • If scanning is not possible, use the displayed setup key.

  • Enter the 6-digit authentication code to complete setup.

7. Enable 2FA using SMS

  • Expand SMS (Text Message).

  • Enter your phone number.

  • Click Send authentication code.

  • Enter the 6-digit code you receive.

  • Click Verify and enable.

8. Remove 2FA if needed

  • Click Remove under the relevant authentication method.

Tips and Best Practices

  • Choose a large text size if you prefer increased readability.

  • Turn on Enter to Send for faster chat-style workflows.

  • Use a Preferred Channel if your role primarily sends SMS from one number.

  • Always enable Two-Factor Authentication to protect your Whippy account.

  • Review preferences after organisational changes or device updates.
