Creating supplemental content for your Barton student

Let's say, for example, your student Sarah is having trouble with words that have "sp", "th, and "f". You can make a workbook with words that include those topics for your students to get more exposure. Follow the steps below to create your content using courses and workbooks.

Creating a course and adding words

Choose Add a Course in the sidebar. A course is the holding space for your words.

Give it a name, we will call our course Sarah's Blends. Once you've made your course, you are ready to add words.

Adding Words

There are two main ways to add workbooks in Whizzimo:

  • Create a workbook from scratch: Add your own custom word lists if you already know the words you want. Just type them in!

  • Create a workbook from the database: Let the system generate words based on your criteria. This is great if you don't know enough words that cover the topic you need.

Create from scratch

Follow these steps to create a custom workbook with your own wordlist:

Go to the course where the words should be added, and select Add a Workbook.
