Why prices don’t sync to POS

Shopify POS currently doesn’t support third-party app discounts (including WPN) at checkout.
Even if you select a wholesale customer in the POS app, Shopify’s POS system won’t automatically pull in their discounted rates — it only recognizes standard Shopify pricing.

Think of POS as a separate sales channel: it can identify the customer but doesn’t communicate directly with app-based pricing rules. That’s why you’ll see regular prices during checkout in POS, even when WPN discounts are active online.


How WPN discounts work online

Wholesale Pricing Now applies discounts dynamically on your online store, not through POS.
Customers see their wholesale pricing when:

  • They’re logged in to their account on your online store, and

  • They have the correct customer tag linked to a WPN discount group.

Once those conditions are met, they’ll automatically see and shop with their wholesale prices.


What you can do instead

If you need to process wholesale transactions in-person or through Shopify POS, here are a few practical options:

  1. Create a Draft Order in Shopify Admin — this correctly applies WPN discounts before checkout.

  2. Use your online store checkout on a tablet or device so tagged wholesale customers can complete their purchase with the correct discounted prices applied.

  3. Confirm your customer tags in WPN to ensure the right groups are linked before creating orders manually.

These steps give you flexibility to manage wholesale sales until Shopify adds deeper POS integration support.

To be eligible, the customer must:

  • Have the correct customer tag based on your discount group setup.

  • Be logged in to their customer account in your online store.

Once those conditions are met, the WPN discounts will display correctly on your online store whenever that customer browses or adds products to their cart.
