Updating Places on the Map
Updated this week

In our community, the accuracy and reliability of information are paramount. Some places on the map, especially those without an owner, require updating to ensure their details are accurate and trustworthy. Your role in updating these places helps maintain the quality of our map and ensures that users can rely on the information provided.

Why Update a Place?

Updating is essential for places on the map that do not yet have an owner and whose details may require confirmation. By updating a place, you’re not just confirming its location—you’re ensuring that all its details are accurate and reliable. This process is crucial for maintaining the quality and trustworthiness of our map. Once you’ve completed the updating process, you’ll become the official owner of that place, earning reputation points and enjoying additional benefits, such as tips from other users.

How to Update a Place

Updating a place is a straightforward process, but it requires careful attention to detail to ensure accuracy. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Get closer to the location: For the most precise updates, it's essential to be near the place you're working on. This proximity helps you verify the details more accurately.

  2. Tap the “Update place” button: Once you're ready, start the process by tapping the button. This will initiate the updating procedure.

  3. Check and update all details: Review every piece of information related to the place, including its address, exact position on the map, name, category, and specific features. If anything is incorrect or missing, make the necessary adjustments. It's crucial that the information reflects reality as closely as possible.

  4. Rate the place and leave a review: Your feedback is valuable. When leaving a review, think about what would be most helpful for others. Provide details on how to find the place, describe the entrance, and share any useful insights. This helps other users have a better experience.

  5. Upload relevant photos: Photos are essential in helping others recognize and locate the place. Make sure to include the following types of photos to provide comprehensive visual information:

    • How to find the place: Photos that show the surrounding area or any notable landmarks that make it easier to locate the place.

    • What the entrance looks like: A clear image of the entrance, especially if it's indoors or not easily visible from the main street.

    • Inside the place (if applicable): Photos of the interior to give users an idea of what to expect.

    • Quality and relevance: Ensure all images are real, related to the place, and free of people. The overall quality of the photos is assessed collectively, so all types of photos are important. Adding fake or inappropriate photos can lead to a ban from the platform.

  6. Become the owner and receive rewards: After you’ve completed the update, your submission will be reviewed by our system. Once approved, you’ll officially become the owner of the place and receive the associated reputation points. Ownership also includes the benefit of receiving tips left by other users, adding more value to your contribution.

By updating places on the map, you’re not only improving the accuracy and reliability of our community’s resources but also gaining the opportunity to become an influential part of the platform. Take pride in owning a place, and enjoy the rewards that come with your dedication to keeping information fresh and accurate.
