You've been asked to leave your feedback on an asset by a team using Wipster. This guide will provide you with everything you need to review and approve, whether you're on mobile or desktop.

Getting Started

First things first, let's get you to the asset. You will receive either an email directly from Wipster or a URL from your point of contact. Simply follow that link on your desktop or mobile device to be taken directly to the work(s) prepared for you. You do not need an account to review content on Wipster.

Shared via Email

If you received an email directly from Wipster, simply click on the green button to be taken to the asset to begin giving your feedback.

Note that this email is personalized to you and must not be forwarded to anyone else. If someone else's feedback is also required, you can ask the person who sent you the asset to create a custom email for them too.

All feedback about the asset should be made directly on the asset itself by following the link and using Wipster's intuitive commenting functionality. This email provides access to the asset. Replies via email will not be delivered to the team that sent it.

If the email got caught by your spam/junk filter, simply click on the 'not junk' button in your email service of choice in order to make sure future assets are sent directly to your inbox.

Shared via URL

If you received a Wipster URL from someone by any other means (Slack, MS Teams, text, etc.), simply follow the link to begin giving your feedback.

Let the team who sent the asset know who you are by leaving your name in the fields above.

Please note that use of fake names, while definitely fun and potentially hilarious, results in confusion for the creative team on the other end, who now has to wonder how super heroes and long dead political figures have accessed their work. Leaving your name and email address does not sign you up for an account at Wipster, but does help your counterparts communicate with you clearly. If privacy is a concern, initials usually suffice to identify you to folks who already know you.

We encourage you to leave an email address. This allows us to send you notifications whenever another user replies to a comment you have made. This is very important, as sometimes creative teams will have clarifying questions on your feedback, and tracking down Napoleon Bonaparte without the use of email is notoriously difficult.

How to Comment

Navigate a video using the toolbar or our handy keyboard shortcuts, or click and drag to navigate a PDF or still image. Tap or click to place a comment marker on the part of the media you’d like to comment on. Then type your comment and hit the blue arrow to submit. Simple!

Other users will be able to reply to your comments in a thread in order to discuss any piece of feedback in further detail. If we know your email address, we'll send you a notification of any replies in a thread you're involved in.

Click on any other colored dot on the timeline to view comments already made by others. Click on the '...' menu to edit or delete any comment you've made.

For a more in depth guide on commenting, please see our article on the subject.

All Done? Finish Your Review

In the top right of your screen on desktop, or right at the top of your mobile device, you'll see this button:

When you're finished leaving your feedback, this is how you'll let the team know that they can start making changes. If you've been asked to approve an asset, this is where you'll find the 'Approved / Not Approved' option.

Multi-review

You may have been asked to review or approve multiple assets. Lucky you! If so, you'll see the following indicator at the top of your screen:

Once you finish a review (using the 'Finish Review' button, of course) on one asset, you'll automatically be taken to the next.

If you'd like to review them out of order, or go back to a previously viewed asset, simply click on the button to open the file selection menu.

Email Notifications

If an asset has been sent to you via email, or you've chosen to leave your email address with us on a URL share, we will send you periodic notifications when someone replies to one of your comments or when someone else leaves a comment you may want to reply to.

If this ever gets to be too much for you, you can disable comments on any individual asset from the information tab in the asset itself. Simply follow the link you were originally given, and look for the options highlighted in the screenshot below:

Simply toggle comment notifications off to stop receiving updates on that particular asset, or toggle them on to receive them again.
