Letting the guest pay directly online has advantages and disadvantages.
With WOBY, it is also possible to let the guest pay directly with their smartphone via iDeal, or Credit Card for example.
We can set for each QR code whether or not the order must be prepaid.
WOBY is integrated to the payment platform Mollie. All regular payment methods are supported, such as iDeal, Mastercard, Paypal and Visa. In the Netherlands, iDeal is the most common payment method. Belgian guests prefer to pay with Bancontact and German guests are used to paying with Giropay.
Disadvantages:
an online transaction (iDeal) 0.24 cents per order;
some guests may order less because paying directly can be a barrier;
there may be confusion in the team, which table/group has/ hasn't paid.
Advantages:
no ghost orders;
some guests find it easy and nice that their order is paid for immediately;
guests do not leave without paying off at the till.
Depending on the audience/type of guests and your business philosophy, the choice to/not checkout online is different for each location.
We intercept ghost orders with the location security within Woby. We usually recommend starting without online payment. You can always easily activate online payment at a later time.
With Woby, you can set per QR code whether online payment should be active or not. So if you would like a certain district or F&B outlet without online payment, that is possible. The other side of the coin is that for staff, 1 choice is the most pleasant, clearest and less prone to error. In other words, how do you make sure guests don't leave while there is an outstanding bill? And if it does happen, it might still not be a problem because do you always have a phone number to call after it?
Here too, we have solutions depending on your business philosophy. Some of WOBY's clients, for instance, work with a handout that is handed in by the guest when leaving the venue.
