Kiosk Mode transforms your device and account into an in-person onboarding station at your place of business, allowing your onboardees to conveniently complete some or all of their forms in person.
In the upper right corner, within the settings dropdown, you'll find the 'Launch Kiosk Mode' option. Clicking on this option will effectively transform your account into an in-person onboarding station.
Imagine someone were sitting in your office and had not yet completed their hiring forms. You want them finished ASAP, but you don’t want to give the person pen and paper because you’ll then either have to scan these forms in, or store them in paper format. This is a perfect example of when you might use kiosk mode -- it’ll allow you to turn your account over to the employee or contractor, but it won’t allow them to access anything else in your account. Here’s how you would use it.
Step 1: Click on the icon from the dropdown below your name to launch Kiosk Mode, then search for the name of the employee or contractor you wish to onboard.
You’re now in a kiosk mode and will see a list of your employees and contractors names. Note that if you have restricted administrator access, you will only see the employees YOU have access to. Before you hand the device over to the person, you’ll want to click on their name.
Note too that an employee or contractor must first have a profile in your WB account! If you reach this screen and can't find the employee or contractor in question, exit kiosk mode and create their profile, or confirm that you have access to onboard them.
Step 2: Hand the device over to the employee or contractor.
Depending on if the employee has logged in to WorkBright account before, they'll either be prompted to set a password,
Or if they have logged in before, be prompted to input their password.
They’ll then be able to complete their profile,
And complete all of their required forms in order, with their progress showing in the upper right hand corner.
There is a “Skip” button if they for some reason cannot complete a particular form,
But if the employee clicks on it, it’ll prompt them for a passkey.
Similarly, if the employee tries to Exit Kiosk Mode in the upper right, WorkBright will prompt them for a passkey.
For security reasons, you should absolutely NOT share the passkey with your employee or contractor. If you do not know your account’s passkey, you can look it up under the Settings tab > Kiosk Mode.
Step 3: When the employee is finished, they’ll reach a “You’re all done!” screen. You can either exit kiosk mode in the upper right or hit the “Start New Employee” button if you’d like to hand your device to another person.
Both options will require your account passkey. If you are in Kiosk mode and don't know your password, use this article to help you get out. If you need further help, please reach out to the support team by creating a support ticket, chatting with us live, or joining our Office Hours sessions.
