My Custom Field Isn't Showing Up When I Add a New Onboardee

I added a custom field and then went to add a new onboardee, and the custom field isn’t showing up for me to fill in. Why not?

Custom fields can be marked as “internal;” internal custom fields are what show up for you the administrator to complete when you add a new onboardee. If you reach the “Custom Fields” screen of your Add-New Employee wizard and don’t see the custom field you’re looking for,

Go to Settings > Custom Fields and verify that it’s been checked as “Internal.”

If it is not checked as “Internal,” it’s an onboardee-facing field! Onboardee-facing fields should be things like T-Shirt Size, Emergency Contact Info, etc. If the field is “Pay Rate,” as in the example above, you as the administrator would want to be determining their pay rate. Edit the field, and make it “internal". Then return to the “Add New Employee” wizard and your field will be there.
