How do I create and edit multiple choice questions?

Use multiple-choice questions to assess comprehension within your assignment.

Follow the guidance below to create and edit multiple choice questions in your assignment.

  1. From the "My Assignments" page, click the assignment you'd like to edit.

  2. Click "Edit".

  3. Scroll to the tabbed sections and click the blue + icon next to the section tabs.

  4. Choose "Answer different types of questions." and then click "Let's Go".

  5. Click "Open Editor".

  6. Choose 'Multiple Choice Question' and then click 'Next'.

  7. Type your question and click 'Next'.

  8. Select the skill this question is assessing. Then, click 'Next'.

  9. In the "Answers" section, type in the answer choices. Be sure the correct answer choice is checked.

    Tips:

    • You can choose to mark more than one correct answer in the 'Mode' options.

    • If you'd like to differentiate the question for each prompt, scroll through the prompts at the top of the screen. For more information on differentiated assignments, click here.

    • Click "Add Answer" to add more answer choices.

    • Double click the text box to pull up the Froala toolbar to add in images.

  10. Continue to "Settings" and decide if you want the answers to be shuffled for students.

  11. Then edit the rubric item if needed by clicking onto the rubric item. If you would like to replace it instead, click on "Replace Rubric Item". You can also adjust the weight of the rubric item here.

  12. Add an answer key and select whether you want the answer keys to be displayed after grading. You can also add tips for students under "Quick Tips".

  13. Once you've added your first question, click "Add Entry" to add more. Click "Done" when you are finished adding your questions.

    Tip: We recommend clicking the "Preview" button in the top corner to see how the questions will appear for students.
