Districts that have purchased HMH Curriculum such as Into Literature or Into Reading have access to Unit Writing Tasks powered by Writable (Writable Basic). This limited version of Writable includes:
One to two writing tasks per curricular unit
Google Docs integration
Originality Checker (Into Lit only)
Limited Peer Review (one reviewer per submission)
1. First, log in to your Ed account and click the 'Discover' tab. Then click 'Connect Solutions' on the left menu. If your school or district purchased Writable premium, you'll see the Writable icon to login.
2. If you have Writable Basic: Your Discover page will show a Connected Solution that states 'Writing Tasks', as shown below.
My Ed account is showing 'Writing Tasks' but I should have Premium access to Writable
If your school or district previously purchased basic Writable and then upgraded to Premium Writable access you may need to follow these steps to ensure your access is updated.
1. After logging in to Ed, click the 'My Classes' tab at the top of the page.
2. The 'My Classes' page shows a list of all your classes. If you have already selected programs for a class, those programs are listed on the class card. To manage the class programs, click the 'View Class' button.
3. Click 'Program Settings' in the left menu.
4. Uncheck all program boxes and click 'Save and Update'.
5. Then re-check all of your program boxes. As a reminder, if you have purchased Writable alongside Into Literature or Into Reading you will select those programs. Then click 'Save and Update' once more.
Tip! If you are using Writable with an HMH Curriculum (such as Into Literature or Into Reading) be sure to check the box next to that curriculum and grade level.
6. When you return to the 'Discover' page, use the dropdown menu to see your available programs. You should now see the button labeled as 'Writable' and not 'Writing Tasks'.
Students should also now be able to view the 'Writable' button in their Ed accounts and launch the program using these directions.
