License administrators can use the following directions to adjust the roles and permissions for users and add or remove them to specific schools to account for staffing changes. It is important to review your teachers' school associations when assigning a Shared Assessment and viewing reports.
Tip! To quickly check on which teachers are associated with specific schools, export your license users using these directions.
From your Writable account, click the profile icon in the top right corner and select “Manage Subscriptions.”
Click the 'Educators & Reporting Permissions' tab to see all teachers included on the license.
Click the Schools dropdown in the table and select a campus. Once selected, any educator with a role associated with that school will show their role. This includes Teachers, Admins, and Viewers.
Here are the available role options for users:
Admin - Can change the license, set user roles, and see all data within a district or school. Admins can also publish assignments and rubrics to 'My District'.
Note: Only license owners can manually add teachers to a license.
Viewer - Can see all student data associated with teachers and classes at the district or school-level, but cannot configure the license or change user roles. Viewers cannot publish assignments or rubrics to 'My District'.
Teacher - Can only see student data that is associated with students in their classes. Teachers cannot publish assignments or rubrics to 'My District'.
To add a user to a selected school, click the dashed line and choose a role.
To remove a user from a selected school, click the role and then choose “Remove”.
If you need to remove a teacher from the license entirely, click the role under "District Domain" and select "Inactive".
We recommend marking teachers inactive if they have left the district or if you have found duplicate accounts for a teacher on the license. If you come across duplicate accounts and are unsure which to remove, please reach out to our Writable Live Support team.
Notes:
Changing the role under the district column will allow the user that permission for ALL schools.
If you'd like a school leader or instructional coach to have access to data from only specific school, be sure to adjust only the role in the "Schools" column.
Regularly review your license to ensure it reflects only active users.
Teacher's school affiliations will impact your reports for usage, growth, and proficiency.
