Students using iPads may encounter an "Access Denied" message when trying to log in to Writable via HMH Ed, Canvas, or Schoology. Often this is because cross-site tracking is being blocked, preventing students from being able to log in. Follow these steps to check and adjust this setting on the iPad:
1. Open the 'Settings' app on the iPad.
2. Scroll down and select the Safari app in the left menu.
3. In the "Privacy & Security" section, click to turn off the 'Prevent Cross-Site Tracking' option. When disabled, the toggle should show as gray.
4. Have the student try to access the Writable assignment once more.
❗ Note: If the student is using the Google Chrome browser app, they will need to scroll to the Chrome app in the left menu and then turn on 'Allow Cross-Website Tracking'
