Troubleshoot if one or more of your students is missing an assignment.

Updated over a week ago

If you've assigned an assignment to your Ed rostered course and one or more students are unable to access your assignment, this may be due to a few reasons. Below are steps to troubleshoot to make sure all students have access to your assignments.

1. Verify your course roster. If you are assigning to courses rostered in HMH Ed, navigate to the 'Classes' page, and verify that your rosters appear up to date, match your rosters on Ed, and all students appear in your roster. If students appear greyed out, this indicates that a student hasn't activated their account by logging into Writable from Ed and will not have access to your assignment. Have those students login using these directions, making sure to connect their account with Google or Microsoft when prompted.

2. Verify your assignment settings. Navigate to your assignment dashboard in Writable, and click the 'Settings' icon. Click 'Modify Assigned Students' to view individual student assignments.

3. Check next to your student's name to ensure they have access to the assignment. New students added to your class when your roster syncs may not be automatically given access to prior assignments. Click 'Done' to save your settings.

If you experience an error when attempting to save settings for your assigned students or run into other difficulties, contact support@writable.com.
