If you are not seeing AI comments and scores in an assignment please check out these troubelshooting steps and details about how AI feedback works in Writable.
In this Article:
Re-request AI feedback
Writable's AI tools immediately begin working on AI feedback when students submit writing, but this can be impacted by the volume of requests. If you notice a significant delay in your AI Suggested Comments and Draft Scores, or see a red error icon, we recommend trying these troubleshooting steps from the Guide/Grade page.
From the assignment dashboard, click on the 'Guide/Grade' screen.
Click on 'Get AI Feedback' to send a prioritized request for AI feedback for all students missing feedback.
Looking for feedback on specific student's writing? Scroll down to their writing and then click the request icon.
Check rubric skills
Writable's AI feedback will not show on rubric items where no skills have been selected. This is due to how the AI uses the prompt and the skills along with other context like genre and grade level to provide a comment and draft score.
If you do not see an an AI comment or score for a particular rubric item please be sure to check the rubric details. Following these directions to edit the rubric item will allow you to select skills. Once you have made sure all rubric items have skills associated, click the "Get AI Feedback" button on the Guide/Grade Page.
Verify if AI feedback is available
Writable is continuing to improve our AI feedback and expand its impact. We are careful to only include AI comments and scores on assignments where the quality of the feedback is aligned with how a human teacher would review, analyze, and score the writing.
Currently, AI comments and draft scores are not supported for writing completed in graphic organizers, certain differentiated supports such as scaffolded assignments, photos of submitted writing, recorded response, and some short response question types that require revising or editing of sentences. Assignments which do not support AI feedback will have notice on them to alert you.
