Flutterwave (Non-U.S. clients)

We partnered with Flutterwave to make it easy for clients in Africa to fund effortlessly transfer, exchange, and invest their local currencies. We support 13 African regions such as Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa as well as 8 major currencies. Learn more here.


ACH Transfer (U.S only)

Before funding your account, you must first link a bank account.

To fund your account via ACH from a linked bank account: Account tab > Transfers > Deposit

ACH deposits typically take 1-2 business days to transfer and another 1-2 business days to invest the funds. The maximum limit for ACH transfers is $50,000 USD per day.


Wire Transfers (Non-U.S. clients)

We also support account funding via wire transfer. This is most beneficial for high-value transfers. Funds must be in USD. Remit to the funds to:

Fees apply. Domestic wires are $25/transaction and $50/transaction for international wires. For a full fee schedule, please see here

If the wire is coming from a third party (not you), Alpaca will need a Letter of Authorization from the third party stating the intention of the wire.

IMPORTANT: Once initiated, you can not cancel a transfer at this time! After each transfer, there is a mandatory five (5) business day anti-money laundering (AML) holding period.

For ACH users: Do not link/unlink bank accounts during the transfer period. ACH returns due to insufficient funds, rejected or duplicate transfers incur a $25 fee. ACH returns are not waivable as these are charged by our partner, Alpaca.

To avoid unnecessary ACH return fees:

  • Ensure you have sufficient funds during and over the time of the transfer request

  • Use checking accounts when possible, as savings accounts might have limited transactions per month.
