File Upload Actions let students upload a file as a Training Action.
This is perfect for when you want students to submit a worksheet, homework assignment, image, audio file, video, document, or other file as part of their course progress.
Examples for how to use it:
Have students upload a completed worksheet
Ask students to submit a reflection, assignment, or homework file
Collect screenshots, images, or video recordings
How to Add a File Upload Action
In Step 3, edit the
Trainingwhere you want students to upload a file.Click the
Actions & Pointstabt for that Training.Add a new action, and choose
File Uploadas the Action Type.
Set up the action just like you would set up a Single Checkbox action. You can add:
The action title
A short description or instruction
The number of points students will earn
Example:
Upload Your Response — Upload your completed Worksheet page 2 to earn your points.
What Students Will See
Students will see a file upload area before they can complete the action. They can either:
Click to upload a file
Drag and drop a file into the upload area
The completion checkbox/button will stay disabled until a file has been uploaded.
Once the file upload begins, students will see an upload progress bar.
After the file uploads successfully, they'll see a success message. Then the uploaded file name will appear. At that point, the student can complete the action and earn their points.
Removing or Replacing a File
Before the action is completed, students can remove the uploaded file and upload a different one.
Once the action has been completed, the uploaded file can no longer be removed by the student from that action. If the student uncompletes the action, the action resets and they can upload a new file.
File Size Limit
Students can upload files up to 200MB. If a student tries to upload a file larger than 200MB, they'll see a message letting them know the file is too large.
Where Students Can Find Their Uploaded File
After a student uploads a file and completes the action, they can find the uploaded file in their student profile area, under My Points. They'll be able to see the file connected to that completed action and download it again if needed.
Where Coaches Can Find Student Uploads
You can view student-uploaded files from the admin area. Go to your Account section and click on the tab for Student Uploaded Files.
Important Notes about File Upload Actions
If a student uploads a file but does not complete the action, they can still remove the file and upload a different one.
If a student completes the action, the uploaded file is saved. If the action is later uncompleted, deleted, or changed, the uploaded file may still be available in the uploaded files area.
If you delete a student-uploaded file from the admin area, the file will no longer be downloadable. If the student had already completed the action, they may see a message letting them know the file was deleted by the coach.
