How to Allow Your Students to Edit Their Own Goals (or Any Custom Fields)
Updated over 3 months ago

First, read about how to set up Goals

You store things like Goals in custom fields as a string of text, a number, or anything else that's customized to the student that can help to personalize their experience inside the course journey, and allow students to change them further if they wish. Allowing students to customize their own experience helps deepen their engagement.

Here's how to do that:

How to Set Up Customizable Goals for Your Students

  • First, in your Account section, create a Custom Field for each goal that you want the student to be able to edit

  • Set it as "student editable".

  • In Page Builder, Edit the Action Block for your Goals

  • In the Action field, type a forward slash: / to pull up the menu and click on Tokens

  • Scroll down, and you'll see the custom field that you've created. Select that Custom Field to add it to the Goal

  • Now, your student can visit their Account section and they'll see a space to edit their goals

  • Your student will now see their personal goals, when they log into their dashboard.
