Use this article after your program, earn rules, and rewards are set. To launch a program from scratch, start with Set Up Yada Loyalty: Start to Finish.
Award historical points (backfill)
Set the program Status to Active. Backfill won't run while it's inactive.
Open Settings > Award historical and click Preview changes. The preview is a snapshot of how many stays would earn points and what each guest's balance would be.
Review the top of the list. Balances follow a power law, so a few top spenders will have very high balances before the numbers settle into a reasonable range.
Click Run backfill only when your earn rules and rewards are signed off internally. Running it makes the previewed balances real. No email is sent.
The backfill skips stays that already have an award and marks backfilled points separately. Points are based on dollars spent, so a large balance reflects spend and is not a dollar value.
Tip for top spenders: Guests may not know the program exists, so a very large first balance can feel out of proportion. Editing a balance by hand will likely show on the guest's ledger. A cleaner option is to create a high-value reward (for example, a premium bundle, free night, or airport transfer) that a guest can redeem once per future stay. See Set Earn and Redeem Rules for Loyalty.
Reconcile contacts
On the Loyalty page, preview Reconcile Contacts before applying updates. This links each member to the best matching Yada contact by email and phone so points and messaging stay on the same person.
Manage a member
Open the Members tab to search a guest and review their status, balance, and transaction history. Use the adjustment action for an authorized correction and record a clear reason.
Monitor performance
Use the Loyalty analytics section to review membership and points activity. Reconcile redemptions with the underlying booking or financial workflow.
