Set Earn and Redeem Rules for Loyalty

Configure how guests earn points on OTA versus direct bookings, how they redeem rewards, and how you fulfill those redemptions.

Loyalty only works if guests know how to earn and what they can redeem. Set those rules before you share the guest portal or send loyalty campaigns.

Open the rules

Open Marketing → Loyalty and select the Rules tab. If you are still in setup, the wizard walks through Name, Earn Rules, Rewards, and Launch. You can edit the same rules later from this tab.

Set earn rules

Create an earn rule for each way guests should receive points. Give it a name, a point value, and an automatic trigger when you want Yada to award it:

  • First-time OTA booking and Repeat OTA booking

  • First-time direct booking and Repeat direct booking

  • Guest leaves a 5★ review

  • Not automatic for manual awards only

Choose Per dollar spent or a Flat amount. A common pattern is a smaller OTA earn rate and a richer direct-booking rate so the program pulls guests off the platforms.

Only one active earn rule can use the same trigger. Preview historical awards on the Loyalty page before you backfill points for past stays.

Set redeem rules

Create a redeem rule for each reward. Set the points cost and how you will fulfill it:

  • Manual fulfillment: the guest requests the reward, then you complete it from the Redemptions tab.

  • PMS coupon code: Yada can issue a mapped Guesty or Hostaway coupon. Add the code, discount type, value, optional booking URL, expiry, and guest instructions.

Keep redemptions moving

Open the Redemptions tab to see pending manual requests and issued coupons. Fulfill or cancel promptly. Cancelling refunds the points to the member.

Tip: Launch with one clear earn path and one or two redeemable rewards. You can add richer tiers after members start earning.
