Return checkout is the final step for a customer requesting a return, making sure everything is processed smoothly for both you and your customers. In this guide, we’ll show you how return checkout works, what you can customise, and how your customers experience it.

In Return Checkout, customers can choose their preferred shipping method from the available carrier options you’ve set up. Each option is displayed with clear details like service type, return fees, and delivery method (e.g. service point, home pickup, in-store return or box returns).

To help us set up your Return Checkout, please provide the following details:

  1. List of Shipping Carriers

    We need the list of carriers and services you use. You can find credentials needed from your carriers from this list.

    Budbee Box is available as an option with Return Checkout. This is the list of credentials needed to configure Budbee.

  2. Country - Carrier rules

    Please provide a table which specifying which shipping carriers are to be used for which country. For example:

  3. Refund Fees

    Please provide a list of Refund Fees per country or carrier to configure.

  4. Return Policy Alignment

    Make sure the Return Checkout setup is reflected in their return policy page:

    1. In case of exchanges & store-credit we show the return fee as 0. This ensures customers do not get confused.

    2. In-store return can be configured to show 0.

    3. Customer will see a short summary of their return fee as well.

  5. In-Store Returns

    Specify if you wish to have the 'in-store return' option visible.

  6. Custom Text for Return Options

    You can add custom text per return checkout option i.e.

    1. One for service point returns, one for box and one for in-store.

    2. This is per return option not per carrier. For example, in case of Postnord and Bring service point returns the text would read the same. Therefore, please keep the text general. The customers will receive the detailed steps in the email.

Once we have this information, we’ll configure and test your Return Checkout to ensure it meets your needs.

  • Links to Return Policy

    Ensure all refund fees and return conditions are consistent with the information on your return policy page.

  • Note on Refund Fees

    At the moment, refund fees can be configured either by country or by carrier. (eg. we can set up "All returns within Sweden are 50 SEK, regardless of carrier" or "All returns by Postnord are 50 SEK, regardless of destination" NOT "All returns by Postnord within Sweden are 50 SEK".

  • In case of store-credit and exchanges, the refund fee will be displayed as 0 on the return form.
