Retailers can increase customer retention and boost loyalty by offering store-credit via yayloh. This is a great alternative to traditional refunds when customers decide to return items. For Shopify merchants, store credit issued via yayloh can be either a gift card or a discount code. Here’s a breakdown to help you decide which option suits your business needs better.
Discount codes:
Discount codes are for one-time use only and are assigned to a single customer.
They cannot be combined with a shipping code.
Discount codes cannot be used to pay for delivery cost.
Discount codes are listed separately in Shopify back-office.
The default validity is picked from Shopify.
Notes are added on both the gift card and the order to help cross-reference them.
For discount codes, yayloh sends the notification emails once the code is generated.
Gift cards:
Note: Only available to Shopify Plus users.
Gift cards can be used to cover delivery shipping costs.
In Shopify, gift cards are considered as a product.
Gift cards are assigned to a specific customer but can be used for multiple orders until the amount is fully used.
If an order paid with a gift card is returned, you can refund the amount back to the gift card.
The validity period is defined by Shopify.
Notes are added on both the gift card and the order to help cross-reference them.
For gift cards, Shopify sends the notification email once yayloh generates the code.
