To make sure your money stays protected, ZayZoon requires that you verify your identity when you sign up and when your account may be flagged for security concerns by the system.

Acceptable ID Documents

Current and valid Canadian government-issued photo IDs are acceptable for identity verification for Canadian employees.

Acceptable IDs for ID Verification:

  • Canadian Passport

  • Citizenship or Permanent Resident (PR) card

    • Record of Landing Form/Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM 5292 and IMM 5688)

  • Driver’s Licence

  • Identification Cards

    • Provincial/Teritorial

    • Military

    • Federal Police

    • Government Employee

  • Immigration Documents Issued to Foreign Nationals

    • Work Permit

    • Study Permit

    • Visitor Record

    • Temporary Resident Permit

    • Refugee Approved Status

  • Old Age Security (OAS) Identification Card

  • Certificate of Indian Status (Status Card)

  • NEXUS Card

For security reasons, expired, edited, or altered documents will not be accepted.

Sign Up - ID Verification

To make sure your government-issued photo ID is approved the first time, follow this criteria:

  • All the information is clearly visible

    • First name and last name

    • Date of birth and expiry

    • Document borders are all in frame

  • No glare from camera flash or lighting

  • the image is in focus and upright, not rotated

  • use a plain background behind your ID (like a sheet of paper)

If your ID does not match these standards, your ID will likely require manual verification.

Manual verification usually takes around a few hours, and you'll receive a message once your ID has been reviewed.
