To make sure your money stays protected, ZayZoon requires that you verify your identity when you sign up and when your account may be flagged for security concerns by the system.
Steps for Identity Verification
Submit any of the documents listed in the 'Acceptable ID Documents' section as a clear, unaltered image in the app. Ensure the document is not expired and all details are visible.
If additional supporting documents are required, such as a utility bill showing your name and address, make sure they are included, or submit additional documents through the chat in the App.
Acceptable ID Documents
Current and valid U.S. government-issued photo IDs are acceptable for identity verification for American employees
Acceptable U.S. IDs for ID Verification:
US Passport/ Passport card
State Identity card (non-driver ID)
Military ID
Tribal Registration Card
Drivers License/ Digital State ID
You will need to submit a secondary verification document for some U.S. IDs:
Work Permit
Permanent Resident Card
Marriage certificate/divorce degree (for name changes)
Other (you will be notified by our team in this case)
Secondary documents usually include mailings with your full name and address, such as:
Utility or phone bills
Bank account statements
Insurance statements
For security reasons, expired, edited, or altered documents are generally not accepted.
Sign Up - ID Verification
To make sure your government-issued photo ID is approved the first time, follow this criteria:
All the information is clearly visible
First name and last name
Date of birth and expiry
Document borders are all in frame
No glare from camera flash or lighting
the image is in focus and upright, not rotated
use a plain background behind your ID (like a sheet of paper)
If your ID does not match these standards, your ID will likely require manual verification.
Manual verification usually takes around a few hours, and you'll receive an email once your ID has been reviewed.
Why wasn’t my ID accepted?
When your ID cannot be approved, you'll receive an email that provides further details. Check your emails (junk/spam) for more details on what is needed for ID verification.
Ensure that the details on your ID match the details in your ZayZoon account and the information you provided to your employer. If necessary, provide supporting documents such as legal name change certificates.
If your personal information from your employer is incorrect, you may need to contact your HR department or employer to correct this in order to register.
What should I do if there’s another issue with my document?
ZayZoon may request additional documents for verification; ensure all submissions are clear, legible, and in compliance with guidelines.
