Company Objects are records in Zeeg's CRM for storing and organizing information about organizations you work with. These can be customers, partners, suppliers, or any other type of company relevant to your business. You can flexibly define what information you capture and how you organize it.

Company Objects are a standard feature included in all Zeeg plans, from Starter to Enterprise. You can create unlimited companies and customize them with custom attributes based on your plan tier.

What are Company Objects?

Company Objects are one of Zeeg's two standard CRM objects (alongside People Objects). They represent organizations in your Zeeg CRM. Each Company Object contains:

  • Company information (name, website, domain, logo)

  • Linked people (all contacts who work at this company)

  • Custom attributes you define (industry, revenue, employee count, customer status, etc.)

  • Activity timeline (interactions, notes, and interaction history)

  • Social media profiles (LinkedIn, Twitter, and other platforms)

Creating companies

Automatic creation

Zeeg can automatically create company records when you add people to your CRM. When you create a person record with a business email address, Zeeg detects the email domain and automatically generates a matching company record.

How it works:

  • Email domain detection: When you add a contact with the email john@acme-corp.com, Zeeg automatically creates a company record for "Acme Corp"

  • Smart filtering: Zeeg recognizes common personal email providers and won't create company records for domains like:

    • gmail.com

    • t-online.de

    • web.de

    • gmx.de

    • outlook.com

    • yahoo.com

    • And other personal email providers

This ensures your CRM stays clean and organized, with company records only for actual organizations rather than email service providers.

Manual creation

1. Navigate to Companies in your Zeeg dashboard and click + Create New.

2. Enter the basic information such as company name, website, and domain. You can also upload a logo, add social media profiles, and capture additional details. Then save the record. There you have it!

If you click "Create More," you can directly create another company without closing the pop-up window.

Managing company information

Viewing profiles

In the company profile, you'll see all stored information: contact details, website, logo, and all custom attributes. On the left side, you'll find the activity timeline with every interaction as well as all linked people who work at this company. You'll also see the complete booking history of all linked contacts. This gives you full context about the entire organization before every interaction.

Editing details

To update a company, navigate to Contacts > Companies in the left menu and open the company profile. On the right side of the company page, you can edit all fields, fill in custom attributes, update person links, and add notes. Changes are automatically saved and immediately applied across all views.

Linking People to Companies

Linking people to companies gives you a complete overview of your business relationships. Here's how to link them:

  1. Open a person profile

  2. Find the "Company" field

  3. Select the existing company

  4. Save the record

The link is displayed in both directions: people show their company, and companies show all linked people.

Organizing companies

Use custom attributes to effectively segment your companies. You can create filtered views based on specific criteria, such as the owner of the company record or when the company was first created or updated. You can also group companies by name, domain, website, "Updated at" date, or any custom field you've created.

To do this, you can also use the Layout button on the right side. Additionally, the search function allows you to quickly find specific companies by name, domain, or other information.

Importing company data

Currently, Zeeg does not support bulk CSV imports for Company Objects. You can create companies manually through the dashboard or automatically when linking People Objects to companies. If you're migrating from another CRM system and need to import a large number of companies, contact our support team at support@zeeg.me to discuss options for your specific situation.

Exporting company data

You can export your company data at any time. Navigate to Companies in your Zeeg dashboard and look for the Export option in the top right. This will generate a CSV or XLSX file containing all your company information and linked data.

Data security and privacy

You can determine which users can view or edit company information. This keeps your company data secure while giving your team the access they need.

To manage permissions:

Navigate to your name in the top right and select Workspace settings.

Click on Objects in the left menu of the Zeeg dashboard. Click on the three dots (...) to the right of the company object and select Manage permissions.

Frequently asked questions

Can I import Companies from another CRM?

Currently, Zeeg does not support bulk CSV imports. You must create companies manually or create them when linking people. If you're migrating from another system, contact our support team to discuss options for your specific situation.

How do Companies differ from people?

Companies represent organizations, while people represent individual contacts. A person can be linked to a company, and a company can have multiple linked people. This structure allows you to manage both individual relationships and the complete account overview.

What happens to linked people when I delete a Company?

The person records remain intact, but the link to the company is removed. Note that deleting a company permanently removes all historical data.

Can I link multiple companies to one person?

The standard link between People and Companies is configured as a many-to-one relationship (many people can belong to one company). If you need more complex relationships, you can create custom attributes with relation type. For more information, see our separate article on Custom Attributes.
