What are CRM Objects?

CRM Objects are the building blocks of your Zeeg CRM—they define what types of data you track. Zeeg provides two standard objects that come with every account: People (for individual contacts) and Companies (for organizations). You can also create Custom Objects to track deals, projects, or anything specific to your business.

What are People Objects?

People Objects are Zeeg's standard CRM object for storing individual contact information. Each People Object represents one person and contains their basic details (name, email, phone), complete booking history, custom attributes you define, activity timeline, and company associations. People Objects are created automatically when someone books with you or can be added manually.

People Objects are included with all Zeeg plans at no additional cost. All users can create unlimited People Objects and customize them with Custom Attributes based on their plan limits.

How to create people objects

1. Automatic creation from bookings

When someone books an appointment through your scheduling page, Zeeg automatically creates a People Object. The system captures their basic contact information like name, email, and phone number, along with the booking details. If you've set up CRM mapping for your booking questions, those responses are also saved directly to the People Object's attributes.

2. Manual creation

To create a People Object manually:

Navigate to People in your Zeeg dashboard and click on + Create new.

Here you can enter their basic information including name, email, and phone number. You can add custom attribute values, link them to a company, and save any relevant notes before saving the record.

If you click on "Create more", you can directly create another contact without the pop-up window closing.

Managing contact information

Viewing profiles

To view their complete profile, click on any person's name. You'll see their contact details, full booking history with dates and types, all custom attributes and values. On the left side, you will see the activity timeline showing every interaction, as well as any associated company information. This gives you complete context before any interaction.

Editing details

To update a People Object, simply edit using the right toolbar. You can modify any field, add values for Custom Attributes, update company associations, and add notes to the activity log. Changes save automatically and are reflected across all views immediately.

Organizing contacts

You can create filtered views based on specific criteria like job title, the owner of the created contact, or when the contact was first created or updated. You can also group contacts by company, last/next interaction, or any custom field you've created. The search function lets you quickly find specific contacts using any field value.

Exporting contact data

You can export your People Objects data at any time. Navigate to People in your Zeeg dashboard and look for the Export option on the top right corner. This generates a CSV file containing all your contact information and booking history. This is useful for backing up your data, analyzing contacts in spreadsheets, or migrating to another system if needed.

Importing contact data

Currently, Zeeg doesn't support bulk CSV imports for People Objects. If you're migrating from another CRM or need to add multiple contacts, you have two options:

  1. Create contacts manually using the + Create new button in the People section

  2. Have contacts book appointments through your scheduling pages, which automatically creates their People Objects

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to create People Objects manually?

No. People Objects are created automatically when someone books an appointment through your scheduling pages. You only need to create them manually if you're adding contacts who haven't booked yet.

Can I add custom attributes to People Objects?

Yes. You can add custom attributes based on your plan limits. Business plans include 5 custom attributes per object, Scale plans include 10, and Enterprise plans include 50. Learn more in our Custom Attributes guide.

How do I link a Person to a Company?

Open the People Object, click Edit, and select the company from the Company field. If the company doesn't exist yet, you can create it on the fly. Zeeg also automatically detects companies based on email domains during booking.

What happens to People Objects if someone cancels an appointment?

The People Object remains intact with complete history. Cancellations are tracked in the booking timeline, giving you context for future interactions.

Can I import contacts from another CRM?

Currently, Zeeg doesn't support bulk CSV imports. You'll need to create People Objects manually or have contacts book appointments through your scheduling pages. If you're migrating from another system, contact our support team to discuss options.

What's the difference between archiving and deleting a contact?

Archiving removes contacts from active views while preserving all historical data. Deleting permanently removes the contact and all associated data. We recommend archiving to maintain your historical records.
