Managing Action Items/Tasks in Zeplyn

Zeplyn helps you stay on top of follow-ups and to-dos with two connected views: the Action Items section (inside each meeting note) and the Tasks tab (a centralized list of all tasks across clients and meetings).

πŸ“‹ Action Items (within a Meeting)

After a meeting is processed, Zeplyn automatically lists the follow-ups captured from your conversation in the Action Items section of the meeting page.

Each task includes:

  • Task description – What needs to be done

  • Assignee – Who is responsible

  • Due date – When it’s due

  • Type – The category of task (e.g., Advisor Task or Client Follow-up)

  • Status – Completed or open


✏️ Editing Action Items

You can update tasks directly from the Action Items section:

  1. Click into any field (assignee, due date, or type) to edit.

  2. Select the new value from the dropdown or date picker.

  3. Use the circle next to each item to mark it complete or reopen it later.


πŸ”„ Sorting Options in the Action Items View

Use the Sort menu in the top right to organize your list:

  • Assignee (A–Z)

  • Assignee (Z–A)

  • Due Date (Ascending)

  • Due Date (Descending)

This helps you quickly find what’s upcoming, overdue, or assigned to a specific team member.


πŸ“‚ Tasks Tab (Full Task List)

The Tasks tab in the left-hand navigation gives you a complete view of all Action Items across meetings, households, and clients.

From here, you can:

  • View overdue and upcoming tasks

  • Filter, group, or search tasks by keywords or owner

  • Click into a task to view or edit full details on the right panel


🧭 Editing a Task in the Tasks Tab

Click any task title to open its details panel.
You can then:

  • Edit the title or description

  • Update the assignee from the dropdown

  • Change the due date or time

  • Delete the task if it’s no longer needed

  • Click Save when done


πŸ” Filtering and Grouping

Use the Filter and Group By options at the top of the Tasks tab to organize your view.

Filter options:

  • Created By – View tasks created by a specific user

  • Status – Show only open or completed tasks

  • Assignee – Filter tasks by assigned team member

Click Apply Filters to update the view, or Clear Filters to reset.

Group By options:

  • Time – Groups by due date (e.g., overdue, upcoming)

  • Assignee – Groups by who’s responsible

  • Owner – Groups by the client or meeting owner

  • Use the search bar in the Tasks tab to find specific items quickly.
