Drawing Tools

The drawing tools include drawing, freeform highlighting, text highlighting and an eraser. To access these tools, click the pen dropdown on the ribbon.

The drawing tool can be used to draw directly on your PDF. Simply select the drawing tool, left-click and drag to draw.

The freeform highlighter allows you to highlight anywhere on your PDF. Simply select the freeform highlighter tool, left-click and drag to draw your highlight.

The text highlighter allows you to highlight text specifically. Simply select the highlight tool and drag left-click to highlight text.

The properties of these annotations can be changed using the properties ribbon which appears under the main ribbon when a tool is selected.

  1. Colour - Use this dropdown to change the line colour.

  2. Fill colour - Use this dropdown to change the fill colour.

  3. Opacity - Use this slider to adjust the opacity of your annotation

  4. Line weight - Use this slider to change the line thickness

  5. Blend mode - Adjusts the blend mode of your annotation

Note: The annotation properties can be amended after drawing/applying by selecting the annotation without a tool selected.

Lastly, the eraser tool can be used to erase annotations.

There are also additional annotation options when highlighting text without a tool selected.

The options from above allow you to highlight, strike-through, underline, squiggle underline and redact the selected text.

Note Tool

The note tool is used to add notes and comments to your PDF. To add a note to your PDF, select the note tool from the ribbon.

With the note tool selected simply left-click your PDF in the location you wish to place the note. This will open a small text area where you can type in your notes.

The note properties can be adjusted using the ribbon which appears under the main ribbon.

  1. Note colour - This setting will change the colour of the note icon

  2. Note symbol - This will change the symbol of the note

Note: These properties can be changed after adding a note to your PDF.

Text Box

The text box tool is used to add additional text to your PDF. To create a text box, simply select the text box tool in the ribbon.

With the text box tool selected, left-click on your PDF to create your text box. You can then type in your additional text. To edit your text after placing, you can double-click the text box.

The text box properties can be changed using the ribbon which is located under the main ribbon.

  1. Text colour - Change the colour of the text

  2. Fill colour - Change the fill colour of the text box

  3. Opacity - Changes the opacity of the text and text box background

  4. Font - Changes the font of the text

  5. Font size - Changes the size of the text

  6. Horizontal alignment - Adjusts the alignment of text from left, centre and right

  7. Vertical alignment - Adjusts the alignment of text from the top, centre, and bottom

Your text box can be moved, rotated and resized by selecting the text box after placing.

Image

The image tool can be used to add an external image to your PDF. To do this, simply click the image icon in the ribbon.

When the image tool is selected, an explorer window will appear allowing you to select an image file from your local machine. After selecting an image, this will be placed on your PDF. You can then select the image to move and resize.

Stamp

The stamp tool is used to stamp your PDF. To stamp your PDF, simply select the stamp tool in the ribbon.

After selecting the stamp tool a window will appear allowing you to select your stamp design.

Custom stamps can also be created using the "Custom Stamp" button. This will allow you to create a stamp with custom text and colour. With a stamp select, left-click on your PDF to stamp in that location.

You can then use nodes to resize, move and rotate the stamp.
