Testing the leaderboard with random scores is a great way to verify your setup and preview how scores will appear on the TV Display or TV Show Leaderboard.
Entering Random Scores
To test your leaderboard with random scores, follow these directions:
Navigate to Rounds > Enter Scores.
Click the option "Random Scores".
Confirm by clicking "Okay" in the pop-up that asks if you would like to enter random scores. Note: If you have already started entering real scores, we advise against using this tool.
Select one of the following options:
View and Edit Scorecards: Choose this to manually adjust the generated scores. To see the results, you must then navigate to Rounds > Leaderboard, where you will see the configuration pop-up described in the next step.
Test Leaderboard: Choose this to go directly to the leaderboard results. You will immediately see the configuration pop-up described in the next step.
If you select Test Leaderboard—or later navigate to Rounds > Leaderboard while random scores are present—a pop-up will appear. Choose an option to set the round status and view the leaderboard:
Cancel: The leaderboard will not load immediately. You can return to it later via Rounds > Leaderboard, but you will be prompted with this same choice again.
Yes, move to 'In Progress': Sets the Round Status to "In Progress." This simulates a live round in which scores are still being entered (not available to Golf Genius TM Club users).
Yes, move to 'Completed': Sets the Round Status to "Completed." This simulates a finished round where points/purses are awarded, and ties are broken.
After selecting one of the Yes options, you will be directed to the leaderboard in the chosen state.
Clearing Random Scores
Once you have verified your settings, you must clear the test data:
Navigate to Rounds > Enter Scores.
Select the option to "Clear Random Scores." Note: If you have navigated away, return to the Enter Scores page and select the option "Clear Random Scores." If you remained on the Enter Scores page, simply select "Clear All Scores."
Optional Step for adjusting Round Status: After clearing the scores, the Round Status may need manual adjustment:
Moved to "In Progress": The status will NOT automatically revert. If you need to change it (e.g., back to "Not Started"), go to the Rounds menu to set the status manually.
Moved to "Completed": The status WILL automatically revert to its state prior to entering random scores. Therefore, if you need to adjust the status of the round, navigate to the Rounds menu and set the appropriate Round Status (e.g., In Progress, Completed).
