TV Display Leaderboard

This feature is available for the following products:

The TV Display Leaderboard shows live leaderboards and tee sheets on a TV in or around the clubhouse, so players can follow scores without a printed scoreboard. Portal pages, such as text, image, and collage pages, can also be added to the rotation. The TV Display can also be shown on a projector, on a tablet, or on a screen out on the course.

Note: The TV Display has a new look as of November 2026. Scores, page order, and most saved choices carry over from the classic display, which will be retired in the coming weeks. Accessing the TV Display

To access the TV Display for a round, follow these directions:

  1. Navigate to Rounds > Display Leaderboard.

  2. Click "Re-score / Print / Adjust Leaderboard / TV Display."

  3. Click "TV Display."

Note: To open the TV Display for the current round without a new link each round, use prefix.golfgenius.com/tv, replacing "prefix" with the prefix for the Event/League. This link opens the most recent in-progress round. The prefix can be changed in the Event/League Profile.

The TV Display Layout

The TV Display fills the screen in one column, from top to bottom (as shown below):

  • Banner: The round or Event/League banner, when Banner is turned on in Settings.

  • Header: The logos on each side and the header text in the middle. The header keeps the same height on every page.

  • Weather delay: The Pace of Play weather message, shown with a red edge while the round has a weather delay and its message is turned on.

  • Leader ticker: The current leaders, such as "Donna Angel leading at -61," with one line per flight. The ticker can scroll, sit centered, left justified, or right justified, or be turned off to give its space to the leaderboard.

  • Leaderboard area: One page at a time. Pages are split to fit the screen, so no rows are cut off, and scores refresh in place while the display runs.

  • Control bar: The buttons for controlling the display. See Using the Control Bar below.

Each screen can use the dark or light theme (as shown below). A screen that has not chosen a theme uses the theme saved for the Event/League, and otherwise starts dark. Over a background photo, the tables get a solid background so they stay readable.

The TV Display can show stroke play and match play leaderboards, brackets, tee sheets, rosters, standings, summaries, season points, and portal pages.

Using the Control Bar

The control bar appears at the bottom of the screen on the first key press, touch, or mouse movement, and hides again after 10 seconds without one. It stays visible while Settings or Manage Pages is open. The control bar includes the following (as shown below):

  • Pause/Resume: Pause or resume the page rotation.

  • Manage Pages: Change the pages and their order. Available to managers only. See Managing the Pages on the TV Display below.

  • Settings: Open the display settings. See Managing the TV Display Settings below.

  • Fullscreen: Move in and out of full screen mode, which gives the best overall display.

The rotation indicator on the right shows where the display is in the page rotation.

Every control can be used with a mouse, a touch screen, the keyboard arrows, or a TV remote. On the Amazon Fire TV Stick, "Close" replaces Pause and Fullscreen, and the remote's play key pauses the display. For more on the Fire TV Stick, Click Here.

Managing the TV Display Settings

Clicking "Settings" on the control bar opens the Golf Genius Screen Viewer settings, which have the following tabs:

  • Screen: Display settings for the screen. Available to all viewers, with some settings for managers only.

  • Customize Header: The header text. Managers only.

  • Watermark & Background: The watermark logo and background image. Managers only.

Screen Tab

Changes on the Screen tab apply right away (as shown below).

The Screen tab includes the following settings:

  • Select a Round: Switch between the Event/League board and each round. Not available on the Fire TV Stick.

  • Banner: Show or hide the banner. Managers only.

  • Logo: Show or hide the logo. Managers only.

  • Dark: Switch between the dark and light themes. The light theme can be easier to read on a bright screen or outdoors.

  • Clock: Show or hide a clock on the display.

  • Ticker Display: Scroll the leader ticker, show it centered, left justified, or right justified, or turn it off. For details, Click Here.

  • Font: Choose the font for this screen: Open Sans (the default), Atkinson Hyperlegible Next, Barlow Semi Condensed, Exo 2, Montserrat, Merriweather, Bitter, Rubik, or USGA. The font applies to the header, ticker, scorecard, and pages, but not to the control bar, the settings, or collage pages, which keep their own fonts.

  • Font Size: Increase the font size to make text easier to read, or decrease it to fit more players or teams on each page. Not available on bracket boards.

  • Display Width: Widen the display to fit more on each row. Do not widen it so far that the display is cut off on the TV.

  • Header Height: Adjust the height of the header area. Decreasing it leaves more room for the leaderboard. The header text stays the same size.

  • Top Margin and Bottom Margin: Adjust the margins to fit the display on the TV, since different TVs need different margins.

  • Scroll Rate: Set how long each page shows, from 5 to 15 seconds.

  • Banner Height: Increase or decrease the size of the banner. A larger banner leaves less room below. Managers only.

  • Summaries: Add pages for Player Points, Player Purse, Team Points, Team Purse, and Season Points. Shown only when the round has those results.

  • Switch to the classic TV display: See Switching Back to the Classic TV Display below. Managers only.

Banner, Logo, Ticker Display, Banner Height, and Summaries apply to every screen showing the Event/League when a manager changes them in a web browser. The other settings apply to this screen only. Changes made by other viewers, or on the Fire TV Stick, show on that screen until it reloads.

Customize Header Tab

On the Customize Header tab, managers can add, remove, and format the header text, and insert terms such as Event Name, Tournament Name, Division Name, and Round Date (as shown below). Click "Save" to keep the changes, or "Cancel" to discard them. For details, Click Here.

Watermark & Background Tab

On the Watermark & Background tab, managers can choose a watermark logo and set its position, size, and opacity (Subtle, Standard, or Prominent), or choose a background image. Use a high-resolution image, since a low-resolution image can look blurry (as shown below).

Click "Save" to keep the changes, or "Cancel" to discard them.

Managing the Pages on the TV Display

Clicking "Manage Pages" on the control bar lists the pages in rotation order, each with its time on screen and a Playing/Hidden switch (as shown below). Manage Pages is available to managers only.

  • Change the order: Drag a page to a new position.

  • Hide a page: Set the page to Hidden to keep it out of the rotation. For example, hide a skins tournament until the results are verified and final.

  • Change a page's time: Each page's time is a share of the screen's Scroll Rate, so the same page shows longer on a screen with a slower Scroll Rate.

Click "Save" to keep the changes. The order, times, and Playing/Hidden choices apply to that board, the round or the Event/League board, on every screen that shows it.

The Summaries page is added by default and lists the points or purse earned in the round. For example, in a Ryder Cup style event, it shows the team point totals.

Adding Pages

More than tournament leaderboards can be added to the TV Display. Click "Add Page" in Manage Pages to view the options (as shown below). "Add Page" and "Edit page" are not available on the Fire TV Stick.

  • Tee Sheets: Show the tee sheet on the TV Display, which is common before a round. For details, Click Here.

  • Customized Tournament Results: Select specific tournaments to display, including tournaments from other rounds in the Event/League.

  • League Tournament Standings: When using the League Tournaments Setup Tool, this page shows the season results for League Tournaments, including match results and participation points.

  • Team League Standings: When using the League Tournaments Setup Tool, this page shows the season team results, including match results and participation points.

  • Most Improved Player Report: This page shows the most improved player in the league, using the USGA's recommended formula. For details, Click Here.

  • Collage: Create a page with text and images, such as a winner's circle or a thank-you message. For details, Click Here.

  • Text Page: Create a text-only page with a text editor. For details, Click Here.

  • Image: Add a page with one large image, such as a photo of the winners or a flyer for an upcoming event. For details, Click Here.

Viewing a Player's Scorecard

Clicking or tapping a player's name opens their scorecard over the display, with birdies and bogeys marked (as shown below). Click "Back to results" or the Back arrow to close it, and the rotation continues from the same page. The scorecard opens only with a mouse click or a tap, not with the keyboard or a TV remote.

Switching Back to the Classic TV Display

Managers can switch an Event/League back to the classic TV Display. The switch applies to every round and every screen of that Event/League. To switch back, use one of the following:

  • In Settings, on the Screen tab, select "Switch to the classic TV display," then click "Switch" to confirm. Not available on the Fire TV Stick.

  • Navigate to Rounds > Display Leaderboard, click "Re-score / Print / Adjust Leaderboard / TV Display," and click "Switch to the classic TV display" (as shown below).

To return to the new TV Display, click "Try the new TV display" in the same place on Display Leaderboard. Open screens switch the next time they refresh or reload. For how the classic TV Display works, Click Here.

Other Display Options

Display options can also be set for each tournament. Open the tournament setup, select "Display," and go to Advanced Display to change how the tournament shows on the TV Display (as shown below).
