Keeping your 1Place app up to date ensures you have the latest features, security improvements, and bug fixes. We release two types of updates, and it's important to check for both.
Why Updates Matter
Updates help keep your data safe, improve app performance, and give you access to new features that make managing childcare compliance easier.
Two Types of Updates to Check
1. In-App Updates (Quick Updates)
These are smaller updates that happen within the 1Place app itself. They keep your app running smoothly between major releases.
How to check:
Open your 1Place app
Look at the top right corner of your screen
Tap the Cloud icon βοΈ
A "Connection Status" window will open
Look for the "Update Channel" section
If you see an "UPDATE APP" button, tap it to install the latest version
The app will download and install the update automatically
What you'll see in the Connection Status window:
Device Network Status: Shows if your device is connected to the internet
1Place Server Connection: Confirms the app can reach our servers
Offline Data: Shows when your data was last synced
Update Channel: Displays your current version and any available updates
Build Version: Your current app version number
2. App Store Updates (Major Updates)
These are larger updates released through your device's app store.
How to check:
For iPhone/iPad users:
Open the App Store
Tap your profile icon in the top right
Scroll down to see available updates
If 1Place appears in the list, tap "Update"
For Android users:
Open the Google Play Store
Tap your profile icon in the top right
Tap "Manage apps & device"
Look for 1Place under "Updates available"
Tap "Update" if available
For Amazon Fire Tablet users:
Open the Amazon Appstore
Tap the menu icon (three lines)
Tap "My Apps"
If 1Place shows an update, tap "Update"
Tip: Enable automatic updates on your device so you never miss important improvements. Check your device's app store settings to turn this on.
When to Check for Updates
We recommend checking for updates:
When you see an app notification about a new version
If you're experiencing any issues with the app
At the start of each week as part of your routine
After receiving an update announcement from 1Place
