Instructions on how to navigate the new Checklist Builder

Updated over a week ago

After clicking the green '+ New Template' button on the Checklist Templates page you are taken straight to the builder. The Template Settings are configured at the end once you Publish your Template.

The first thing you'll notice is the new look and feel of the Builder. We've also added your first Group + Question so you can start building your Template instantly.

Top Menu

In the top right corner of your screen you will see 3 buttons:

  • Preview; Clicking this will launch a new browser tab in which you can test your Checklist Template. This allows you to check and see if you've configured everything correctly before Publishing. Please note that this button also saves your latest changes.

  • Save; Use this option throughout the process of building your Template to ensure your changes are saved.

  • Publish; this makes the Template available for your Users. If a Template is Published for the first time, you will be taken through the Publish Wizard in which you configure all Settings. More information about the Publish Wizard can be found here.

Left Menu

On the left side of the screen you can locate the following buttons:

  • Add Group; New Groups are added to the bottom of your Checklists

  • Add Question; When adding a new Question you'll have to choose in which Group you'd like to add it. The default Question Type is 'Select Yes / No'. Please note that the 'Select' question type now has a list of Presets available.

  • Navigate To; This feature allows you to quickly get to a specific question in your Template. You select the Group first, and then the Question. If your Template is quite long, you don't have to scroll anymore.

  • Manage Rules; This button will show the screen where you can create new Rules, or update existing Rules. We've completely changed how Rules work, so please refer to the following article to see how to create Rules in the new Builder: Creating Rules.

  • View Rule Flow; This option will help you understand the 'flow' of your Checklist after you've created and applied your Rules.
