Fieldy asks for a few permissions so it can stay connected, transcribe reliably, and keep you in the loop. Review and manage all of them in one place: open the Fieldy app and go to Settings → Permissions. Each one shows whether it's currently enabled, and tapping it takes you straight to the right control.
Notifications
Lets Fieldy alert you about things like a finished transcription, a low battery warning, or a reminder you've set. If you're not seeing alerts you expect, check this is enabled first.
Location
Fieldy uses location to tag your memories with where they happened. It also helps your phone reconnect to your Fieldy device over Bluetooth — disabled location access is a common cause of dropped or delayed connections.
Microphone
Needed any time the app itself records audio from your phone, separate from recordings made on your Fieldy device.
Battery Optimization
Keeps Fieldy connected in the background instead of getting paused by your phone's power-saving mode. If conversations are getting missed or Bluetooth keeps dropping, this is the first thing to check.
Managing permissions manually
Tapping a permission in the app usually takes you straight to the right system settings screen. If you'd rather do it manually:
iOS
Go to Settings > Apps.
Find the Fieldy app and tap it.
Enable each permission — for Location, choose "Always."
Android
Go to Settings > Apps.
Find the Fieldy app and tap it.
Go to the Permissions section and enable each one.
For Battery Optimization specifically, look for a "Battery" or "Battery usage" section and set Fieldy to unrestricted.
