Serialised products in OnRent come with unique serial numbers, enabling you to track each item throughout its lifecycle. This guide outlines the new privileges and options for managing access to these serialised products.
New Features for Serialised Products
When a serialised product is sold, either through an order or a negative manual stock transaction, new options now prevent users from updating those items or creating manual transactions for them.
Privilege Settings Explained
Preventing Updates on Sold Items: Once a serialised product is marked as sold, you can restrict users from updating its details. This includes editing the serial number, product description, and status, ensuring that sold items retain their original records for accountability and traceability.
Restricting Manual Transactions for Sold Items: New privileges can block users from creating manual transactions for sold items. For example, users cannot add or deduct quantities of the sold product through manual adjustments, and the serial numbers of sold products remain locked from reallocation or unauthorised changes.
Configuring Privileges
Go to the User Roles section in the Settings menu. Select User Roles and Permissions.
Identify the User Role you wish to update and locate the Settings for serialised products.
Enable or disable the following options based on your requirements:
Allow Updates for Sold Serialised Products: This allows users to update serialised products.
Allow Manual Transactions for Sold Serialised Products: This allows users to create manual transactions for those products.
Confirm and Save your updated user role permissions.
