Account notes when creating Orders

How account notes are automatically displayed when creating an Order directly from an Account page.

Account Notes When Creating Orders

When you create an Order directly from an Account page, any notes stored against that account are displayed automatically. This means your team has immediate access to important customer information right at the point of creating the Order, without having to navigate away to find it.

How It Works

  1. Navigate to the customer's Account page from the main menu or search bar

  2. Use the Plus icon to create a new Order

  3. As soon as the Order screen opens, any existing account notes are displayed automatically

The notes shown may include:

Note Type

What it contains

Internal Description

Staff-only notes not visible on customer documents

External Description

Notes intended for customer-facing documents

Transport Description

Delivery or site-specific instructions for the transport team

Warehouse Description

Handling instructions for the warehouse team

Why This Matters

Creating an Order from the account is a common shortcut, but it previously meant notes could be missed if a user was not aware they existed. With notes surfaced automatically, the right information is always in front of the right person at the right moment, whether that is a credit note, a site access instruction, or a standing customer preference.

⭐ Notes can also pop up when selecting an account or delivery place during the standard Order creation flow. See our guide on Popup Order Notes for more detail.
