Margin Threshold Warnings

Margin Threshold Warnings help you identify orders that may not be achieving your desired profit margin. When an order falls below a configured margin threshold, OnRent Go displays a warning so you can review pricing before confirming the order.

Applying Margin Threshold Warnings

  1. Go to Inventory

  2. Select product

  3. Edit

  4. Go to pricing

  5. Here you will find your Minimum Margin %


How to Use Margin Threshold Warnings

1. Create or Open an Order

  • Navigate to Orders.

  • Create a new order or open an existing one.

2. Add Items to the Order

  • Add rental, sale, or service items as required.

  • Enter any discounts, custom pricing, or manual rate adjustments.

3. Review the Margin Warning

  • As the order total is calculated, OnRent Go compares the order margin against your configured threshold.

  • If the margin falls below the threshold, a warning message will appear on the order.

4. Investigate the Cause

  • Review item pricing and discounts.

  • Check any manually entered rates.

  • Identify products or services that may be reducing overall profitability.

5. Adjust Pricing if Required

  • Update hire rates, sale prices, or discounts where appropriate.

  • Recalculate the order to see if the margin returns above the threshold.
