What is QuickBooks Online?

QuickBooks Online is an easy to use online accounting software that’s designed specifically for small businesses.

  • It’s all online, so you can work when and where you want to. Just login with your PC, Mac, or mobile

  • Your invoices are imported via the posting facility letting you see your debtors in real-time

  • QuickBooks Online has all you need to run your business – including invoicing, paying bills, sales tax returns, reporting and much more

How does the integration work?

There’s three key parts to our integration with QuickBooks Online:

  • Create links between Accounts in OnRent and customers in QuickBooks - When you create an account in OnRent, a new linked customer is automatically created in QuickBooks. And when you update an account in OnRent, the customer in QuickBooks is kept up-to-date!

  • Import and export Accounts - Use our import and export tools to import QuickBooks customers to OnRent or export OnRent accounts to QuickBooks

  • Post invoices and credits straight to QuickBooks - Once integrated, there’s a post option on both the invoice and invoice batch screens that allow you to post your invoices directly to QuickBooks

Do I need the integration with QuickBooks Online?

You don’t need to use QuickBooks Online to use OnRent.

OnRent comes with some accounting functionality built-in:

  • Create invoices and credits, including ad hoc invoices. For some businesses, this might be all you need

  • You can create accounts and payment terms to manage your customers and invoice due dates

  • Export your invoices to easily import to Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and more with our Invoice Status report

If you’re looking for advanced functionality such as bank reconciliation, customer account statements, expense tracking, or payroll, then you should consider an accounts package like QuickBooks Online.

Next steps

Your rental management solution and your accounts package are two of the most critical parts of your rental business, so it’s important to get the integration right.
