Amazon Confirmed sales

In our filters or settings you will often find the option to filter for confirmed sales or not. This guide will help you to understand what these confirmed sales are.

Confirmed Sales represent products that have been sold on Amazon and for which Amazon has publicly confirmed the sales volume. Unlike estimated sales, these numbers are based on actual customer purchases, making them one of the most reliable indicators of real product demand.

Since the data comes directly from Amazon, you can be highly confident in its accuracy.

Amazon displays Confirmed Sales on product pages as a small black text, for example:

"100+ bought last month"

In ProfitPath, products with Confirmed Sales are easy to identify. The sales figure will be highlighted in blue, whereas estimated sales are displayed in grey.

Important: Minimum Thresholds

Not every product is eligible for Confirmed Sales data. Amazon only displays Confirmed Sales once a product reaches a certain sales volume.

The lowest Confirmed Sales threshold is 50+ bought last month. If a product sells fewer than 50 units per month, Amazon will not show a Confirmed Sales value.

The available thresholds typically increase as follows:

  • 50+ bought last month

  • 100+ bought last month

  • 200+ bought last month

  • 300+ bought last month

  • and so on

Because of these thresholds, a product showing 50+ bought last month may have sold anywhere between 50 and 99 units, while 100+ bought last month indicates at least 100 sales during that period.

For this reason, Confirmed Sales should be viewed as a minimum confirmed sales level rather than an exact sales count.

Confirmed Sales can be a very strong sourcing criterion, especially for beginners, as they provide additional confidence that a product is actively selling. However, you should not focus exclusively on products with Confirmed Sales.

Products without Confirmed Sales are often overlooked by other sellers, making them harder to source and, in many cases, more profitable. As a result, these products can often offer higher profit margins on average while still presenting excellent sourcing opportunities.
