The FBA Shipments section allows you to create, manage, and monitor all inbound shipments sent to Amazon fulfillment centers. It helps streamline the entire shipment creation process while providing full visibility into shipment status, carton contents, and potential discrepancies.
Creating an FBA Shipment
To create a new FBA shipment, click New Shipment in the top-right corner.
Step 1: Configure the Shipment
First, select:
Your Ship from address
The Target Marketplace
An optional workflow name
Next, search for the products you would like to include in the shipment. You can search using ASINs and other product identifiers.
Once you have selected your products, click Add.
Step 2: Configure Shipment Items
For each product, specify:
The number of units to send
Who will prepare the product (Prep By)
Who will label the product (Label By)
You can also print FNSKU labels directly from this page using the printer icon. Alternatively, you can print all labels later in the workflow.
If necessary, products can be removed from the shipment using the trash can icon.
Once everything is configured, click Create Shipment.
Step 3: Confirm Placement
After Amazon calculates the shipment placement, you may be presented with multiple placement options.
Select your preferred option and click Continue with this option.
Step 4: Assign Products to Cartons
ProfitDesk offers two ways to assign products to cartons.
Option A: 3D Carton Viewer
The 3D Carton Viewer helps visualize how products fit inside your cartons. Before you start the 3D view, you have to enter your carton dimensions in "Manage cartons"
You can then use the 3d carton view and:
Add products to cartons
Use Auto Place to automatically optimize the arrangement
View all items inside the carton
Verify that all products fit properly
This option is particularly useful for larger shipments and mixed carton contents.
Option B: Manual Carton Assignment
If you prefer manual carton management, switch to Manual mode.
You can then:
Create cartons manually
Enter carton dimensions
Enter carton weight
Assign products to cartons
Once finished, confirm the carton information.
You can also manage your available carton sizes through the Manage Cartons section.
Step 5: Print Product Labels
After carton assignment is complete, click Print Labels.
This allows you to print all required FNSKU labels for the products included in the shipment.
Step 6: Create Shipping Labels
Next, select the shipment's shipping date using Pick Shipment Ship Date.
ProfitDesk will then retrieve the Amazon shipment labels. Depending on Amazon's response time, this may take a few moments.
You can either:
Use Amazon Partnered Shipping
Select your own shipping provider
Choose your preferred shipping option and click Confirm Shipping.
You can now print the shipment labels and prepare the shipment for dispatch.
Shipment Complete
Your FBA shipment has now been successfully created and is ready to be shipped to Amazon. Of course you can download shipping labels or FNSKU labels afterward, simply just use the actions icons next to the FBA shipment.
Shipment Overview
All created shipments remain available in the FBA Shipments overview.
For each shipment, you can view:
Shipment Name and ID
Destination Fulfillment Center
Shipment Status
Units Shipped
Units Received
Quantity Differences
Included Products
You can also access several actions directly from the shipment overview.
These include:
Opening the shipment in Amazon Seller Central
Printing the packing list
Reprinting shipment box labels
Reopening the 3D carton view
Reprinting FNSKU labels
This provides a centralized overview of all your inbound FBA shipments directly within ProfitDesk.
Filtering Shipments
As your shipment volume grows, ProfitDesk provides various filtering options to help you quickly find the shipments you are looking for.
You can filter shipments by:
Shipment Status
Date Range
Destination Fulfillment Center
Shipment ID
Draft Shipments
Ready Shipments
Shipped Shipments
Delivered Shipments
Closed Shipments
This makes it easy to focus on specific shipments or monitor the progress of your inbound inventory.
Monitoring Discrepancies
By enabling Show Only Discrepancies, ProfitDesk will display only shipments where Amazon's received quantity does not match the quantity that was originally shipped.
These discrepancies can occur when:
Units are lost during transit
Units are misplaced by Amazon
Units have not yet been checked in by Amazon
For newly delivered shipments, it is completely normal to temporarily see discrepancies because Amazon may still be processing and receiving the inventory. In these cases, the discrepancy often resolves automatically once Amazon completes the check-in process.
Opening a Discrepancy Case
If you believe units are missing from a shipment, you can create a discrepancy case directly from ProfitDesk.
Simply click the Open Discrepancy Case icon in the Actions column.
You can then:
Open the corresponding case in Amazon Seller Central.
Submit a reimbursement or investigation request to Amazon.
Add the Amazon Case ID to the shipment inside ProfitDesk for future reference.
This allows you to keep track of ongoing discrepancy investigations and quickly identify shipments where reimbursement may be owed by Amazon.
PrepCenter Integration
If you have connected your PrepCenter in the ProfitDesk settings, ProfitDesk can automatically announce both A2A orders and FBA shipments to your prep center.
Once configured, all relevant shipment and order information will be transferred automatically, reducing manual communication and helping your prep center process incoming inventory more efficiently.
When an order or shipment has been successfully announced to the prep center, a green truck icon will appear in the shipment or order overview.
This indicates that the information has been successfully transmitted and that the prep center has been notified about the incoming inventory.
